American Dog Ticks – Found in all five boroughs. Larger than a pea. They can transmit Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
Gulf Coast Ticks – Found on Staten Island. Can transmit Rickettsia parkeri rickettsiosis.
Asian Longhorned Ticks – Found in Staten Island and the Bronx. Not yet known to spread disease in the U.S.
